About Charlotte
Hipsinc. Director, Charlotte Desorgher, is one of the top bellydance teachers in the UK. Her popular weekly classes in Croydon and Wallington attract students from all over London and she teaches and performs regularly at major UK festivals and events such as Fantasia, Celebrating Dance, Brighton Orient, Egyptian Moonlight and Planet Egypt.
Charlotte has been dancing since the age of five, training in ballet, jazz and contemporary dance and going on to gain an honours degree in Dance and Education from the London University Institute of Education. She saw her first bellydancer at a nightclub in London in the early 1980s and it changed her life.
Charlotte went on to travel and work in the Middle East where she begged the local women to teach her how to dance. She continues her professional development with private study with world famous names, Hossam and Serena Ramzy and Aziza. She also travels regularly to Cairo, home of bellydancing, where she takes private lessons with the top dancers there.
For a while now, Charlotte has had a dream to extend the pleasure of bellydancing to as many people as possible and to broaden what she could offer them. As well as regular weekly bellydance classes, she wanted to bring the best dancers of the world to teach and perform. To offer different styles of bellydance. To give everyone who wanted the chance to dance on a real stage, in a real show. To create fantastic social opportunities through parties, haflas, restaurant nights out and visits to bellydance shows. And to enable students to visit Cairo, the home of bellydance.
Hipsinc. is the realisation of that dream. She hopes you gain as much pleasure from it as she does.
